About Marshfield Arts

Bringing exceptional live music to the heart of our community.

Hi, I'm Julie (or Jools), a professional musician and proud resident of Marshfield. After 25+ years of working as a freelance oboist — from orchestral stages and chamber ensembles to teaching studios and choirs — I want to bring the magic of live music closer to home.

I studied oboe at the Royal Northern College of Music and since then have enjoyed a wonderfully varied career, performing across the UK and beyond. You’ll find me equally at home in an orchestra, playing chamber music, teaching young musicians, or leading choirs. I'm also Director of Music for Miniatures, a charity that brings professional live music to babies, toddlers, and schools — helping to nurture a love of music from the very start.

Starting Marshfield Arts is a dream come true. I’m passionate about creating intimate, inspiring concerts featuring exceptional musicians, right here in our village. More than anything, I want Marshfield Arts to be shaped by the community — to grow and evolve with your ideas, support, and enthusiasm.

I can’t wait to welcome you to our events and to share the joy, connection, and richness that live music brings.
